Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to all rotating and stationary equipment; pumps, cooling fans, compressors and turbines
  • Perform pipe strain management using: critical laser flange, optical alignment, dial-indicators, ensuring proper pipe support and thermal indicators
  • Execute scopes of work in accordance with Federal and Provincial standards
  • Install, dismantle and overhaul facility and field equipment such as pumps, automated and robotic systems, electrical controls, conveyor systems, power tools, hydraulic systems, emissions controls, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Repair, fabricate or replace defective machinery components and facilitate follow up testing on repairs
  • Assist operations in the start up and shutdown of equipment according to appropriate safety procedures and governing standards on the Conoco Surmont site
  • Interpret schematics and read service manuals to determine work procedures

MPI Oilfield is looking for a Materials Coordinator to join our growing team! This is role for someone with strong records management skills, who is detail oriented, organized and works well with others.

Skills You Bring:
  • Oversee Offloading, and staging of owner supplied, and contractor supplied oilfield pipe, valves, fittings, pipe shoes, structural steel, prefabricated piping, and other oilfield construction related equipment.
  • Properly Receive and document equipment, track any back orders.
  • Generate and store all material receiving documents in folders on the applicable project drives.
  • Maintain pipe yard, cold storage facility, and all material storage areas.
  • Maintain MTR Logs for all material, cross reference Heat numbers with MTRs to ensure material is correct for the job scope.
  • Strong organizational skills to cross reference materials received with piping line class specifications. Identify, and report any discrepancies.
  • Identify any damaged, incorrect, defective, nonconforming material. Properly mark and quarantine any such materials.
  • Develop Material Requests / Material Transfers from drawings, material specs, and P&ID’s. Submit material requests to Venders for quotes.
  • Prepare material packages to be sent from Site locations to the Fabrication shop. Oversee loading trailers, photographing the loads, and completing the material transfers.
Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and understand records management practices.
  • Create, and store files in shared job folders. Navigate through job packages, QC Folders, etc.
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive manual lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Prepared to work in different weather conditions (Hot, cold, snow, rain) 60% office / 40% field.

Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum valid Class 1 Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement and with a clean abstract. Experienced Class 3 operators with a willingness to obtain class 1 may be considered.
  • Must be able to effectively operate a manual transmission.
  • Possess valid industry, training certificates including, but not limited to Industry tickets such as WHIMIS, Confined Space, CSO, H2S Alive, Hazard Assessment, First Aid
